Pardevalles’ Albarín 2022 and Vile La Finca’s Don Suero Tinto Reserva from the 2016 vintage triumph in Germany at one of the world’s most important wine competitions.

Two wines from the León DO -the Pardevalles Albarín 2022 (Pardevalles-Valdevimbre) and Don Suero Tinto Reserva 2016 (Vile La Finca-Valdevimbre), the latter made with Prieto Picudo grapes, the leading variety in the production area- won gold medals at the spring tasting, one of the two annual events of the Mundus Vini Competition, which in its 32nd edition was held in Neustdat (Germany). This competition, organized by Meininger Verlag, is one of the most prestigious at international level and is attended by expert tasters from all over the world. The award-winning wines will be presented to the specialized public at Prowein 2023, the world’s largest wine fair, which will be held from tomorrow for three days in Düsseldorf.

These two very important distinctions add to an already long list of awards won by wines from the León Designation of Origin at the first events of the season of major national and international competitions. The award-winning wines at the great annual German event represented more than thirty wine-producing countries from around the world and were tasted blind and professionally evaluated by an international jury of 130 experts.
jury of 130 experts. Among the tasters were prestigious oenologists, sommeliers, retailers with superior wine knowledge, specialized journalists and scientists from all over the world.
