The Control Board will receive the Special Gourmets Award for its intense promotional activity
The Regulatory Council of the Designation of Origin León will be represented institutionally and will participate simultaneously with its wineries in the Salón Gourmets, which will take place from 18 to 21 October at the Ifema in Madrid, and in the Duero International Wine Fest, organised by the Junta de Castilla y León through Itacyl and held at the Feria de Valladolid on 18 and 19 October. In the first case it will do so with the wineries Pardevalles, Gordonzello, Tampesta-Andrés Marcos, Raúl Pérez, Margón, Noelia de Paz-La Osa and Pincerna. Three of them will double their presence -Pardevalles, Gordonzello and Tampesta- and will be accompanied at the second event by Vile-La Finca and Cien Cepas.
The most eagerly awaited edition of the Salón Gourmets, after last year’s suspension, will bring together 37,000 products and more than 1,500 exhibitors who will occupy halls 4, 6 and 8 of Ifema Madrid. It is the most important quality food and beverage fair in Europe. In 47,000 metres of exhibition space, it will basically house wines, oils, preserves, cheeses, chocolates, all kinds of drinks, smoked foods, cereals and charcuterie. It will also present around 1,300 new products within the specific Innovation Area and Organic Exhibition Area, reserved for trends and advances in the sector, both in terms of quality and in terms of presentation and production technology.
The León DO will be a double protagonist in this case, as the Regular Council will receive the Special Gourmets Award, which it was unable to collect last year due to the suspension of the show, as the most active new appellation of origin in the development of promotional activities.
For its part, the Duero Wine Fest is the largest wine congress in central Spain and brings together leading national and international experts from the sector to examine the quality of wine production in the areas along the Duero River. During the two days of activity, masterclasses and master tastings will be held and there will be a tasting and exhibition area for attendees. The second edition of Duero Wine will serve as a loudspeaker, promoting awareness, among professionals and wine lovers, of the extraordinary natural characteristics of Castilla y León and Portugal, a peninsular sister country, for the production of an excellent mosaic of high quality wines.
